ADNET Technologies reached out to its clients and internal staff in both locations to help the firm raise monetary, dry and canned items and hygienic product donations to benefit Foodshare and The Food Pantries for The Capital District for the annually hosted ADNET food drive.
The Connecticut drive began in August, 2016 and closed at ADNET’s Annual Chili Cook-Off and Client Appreciation Event on November 10th. In the New York office, donations were accepted until December 2nd. This year, $640 and over 1,500 items were raised and distributed to food pantries in the Farmington area of Connecticut and in New York’s Capital District.

We hope that what we’ve been able to collect will help those in need and inspire others to give back to their community.”
Foodshare is a nonprofit organization serving the Tolland and Hartford counties in Connecticut. According to their statistics, there are 137,000 people in these counties who cannot be sure where their next meal is coming from. That includes one out of every six children in the area. Foodshare’s vision is for a community where all of these people can get all of the food they need. As the region’s food bank they work toward that vision by getting food donations from the food industry and distributing them to 300 food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, and other partner programs.
About The Food Pantries for the Capital District
The Food Pantries for the Capital District is a coalition of 56 food pantries in Albany, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties working together to feed the hungry. Their mission is to address hunger in the capital district through member food pantries, which they support by funding, purchasing, collecting, and delivering food. They also provide a forum for networking, coordination of services, education and training for pantry staff and volunteers.
